Welcome to Eradicate Racism

About Us

#Eradicate Racism UK

Thank you for visiting our website. We created this website because our 15 year old Son was racially abused at Clacton County High school, on his last day of school. When he participated in the traditional shirt signing a true celebration of the end of his school journey. His commemorative keepsake school shirt was turned into a constant reminder of racism in a terrible turn of events. Some students from year 11, wrote the words " Ni**er, C**n and " Go back to the Jungle"   on the back of his shirt.

We have now decided to take action to eradicate racism. We are determined to find the students that wrote the abusive, racist words on his back, for appropriate action to be taken. As a family we have found that the best way to eradicate racism is to promote love, respect and appreciation of differences. Also, the understanding and use of education to undo the misconceptions and stereotypes, including the unconscious and conscious racial bias that underpins racism. Being proactive in eradicating racism is far better than being complicit, apathetic or pretending it does not exist. Racism causes severe harm and should carry a health warning as it is dangerous. We want to continue the campaign to Eradicate Racism and we are asking for everyone including, celebrities, sports stars, music artists, mums and dads, families, schools and anyone willing to support, to take part in the campaign. All you need is a white T-Shirt a felt tip pen and a camera/smart phone. If we all make a Love T-Shirt, our efforts will go someway to  combat the hatred that is racism. This will also aid in the  healing of those affected by racism.

The Love T-Shirt #EradicateRacismUK

We have decided to reverse the negative experience and turn it into a positive one! We request your help in making a Love T-Shirt that we will use to create a mural, to put on to the new school shirt for our son. Please join our #EradicateRacismUK campaign by creating a Love T-Shirt in four easy steps, all you have to do is:

1. Get a white T-Shirt and a marker pen or paints and  be creative.

2. Write/ draw a positive message on it  front and back, with the hashtag  #EradicateRacismUK

3. Please  take a photograph with you wearing it .

4: Email the photo to us at info@WorkingActionGroup.org and please share it on social media.

We will then create a special Love T-Shirt Gallery and add the photos that we receive, which will serve as a lasting memory.  Thanks for sharing the Love!

Thank you so much for helping us to Eradicate Racism!

What is racism and why eradicate it?

"Racism put quite simply is a system of power and control. It uses prejudice, discrimination and antagonism against a particular race of people, adversely affecting their survival.  The hideous nature and far reaching tentacles of racism have proliferated to such an extent, that they have latently  embedded themselves in many essential areas in the lives of the victims. These areas include and are not limited to education, employment, housing, media, healthcare, political, judicial, economical sectors and institutions." DJ Mr.P

Dr Doirean Wilson Diversity Lead at Middlesex University London & Senior Lecturer, Equality Diversity and Professional Practice; Visiting Professor of Religion and Multiculturalism JCCAN

D.Prof Practice, MA HRM, FRSA, SFHEA, Fellow European Institute SPES , Chartered FCIPD, PG Cert Ed (FE).

Is the UK's leading expert in EDI - Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. She lectures at Middlesex University and has created the Dr Wilson Diversity Health Check which should be compulsory for schools and educational institutions and places of employment up and down the country, this is her take on racism:

"Racism is the belief that members of a particular race possess; qualities characteristics or behaviours or abilities that render them either inferior or superior to another race. If members of a race are socialised to believe that they are more superior than another, then they are likely to perceive and treat these members in an inferior way, regardless of their; qualifications, their intellectual capabilities and their talent. This often manifests in the workplace, where those who have power and control have been socialised to believe that they are more superior than those just as capable as they are .

RACISM + Discrimination = The scourge of society and leads to disrespect". Dr D Wilson
